Example: If you add Facebook widget, you can view Facebook posts from the Home screen without launching the application, this is also applicable others like Music Player, Emails, Google +, News from the Homescreen
How To Add Widget?
It is easy to understand, it can be done within seconds.. On your Homescreen press and hold-on a blank area on your screen,
a pop-up will appear showing menu where you can add apps, shortcuts and widgets to your homescreen, this step may not be applicable to some application launchers but it work on almost all launchers.
